OPINION

We are getting lots of good news from Finland, where summer has been unusually hot and sunny so far. Big Finnish companies have won orders around the world. Finnish-based company Ahlstrom-Munksjö is strenghtening its presence in USA by acquiring US-based Expera. The largest deal was made by Finnish telecommunications company Nokia, which signed an agreement worth 3,5 billion dollars with US-based company T-Mobile.

The biggest news in July was Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin’s summit in Helsinki on July 16th. Finland did an excellent job by organizing the summit within a very short notice and Finnish President Sauli Niinistö also had the opportunity to meet with both presidents and strengthen Finland's already good relations with the USA and Russia.
