Steve Riedel named Honorary Consul for Minnesota and South Dakota.

We are especially proud to share the news that FACC-MN’s board member and Global Minnesota’s Steve Riedel has been named as Finland's Honorary Consul in Minnesota and South Dakota succeeding Elaine Kumpula.

Steve shared that Finland and Minnesota already enjoy a remarkably strong friendship, and he considers it a great honor to build on the work of his capable predecessors. He also looks forward to continuing his longstanding efforts in state government to promote the Letter of Understanding between Finland and Minnesota, while serving Minnesota’s impressive and sizable community of Finns and Minnesotans of Finnish heritage. His confirmation comes at an especially fitting time, as Minnesota once again hosts FinnFest USA—this year in Minneapolis. Steve is looking forward to connecting with the community and says, “See you at FinnFest!”

Steve will also continue serving part-time as Senior Corporate Advisor with Global Minnesota, which he sees as a crucial partner in maintaining and growing the strong relationship between Finland and Minnesota. In addition, he will remain on the board of the Finnish American Chamber of Commerce Minnesota, an equally crucial partner in advancing and strengthening this enduring friendship.
