Welcome to IPR Webinar which is jointly organized by Finnish Business Council Beijing and Capital Intellectual Property Services Association (CIPSA).

CIPSA is a non-governmental association. The members of the association are legally registered IP service agencies. Association also keeps a list of 100 best IPR -attorney companies in China, and gives free advice and support for local and international companies in IPR issues.

You will learn about the changes of IPR law of China in recent years by CASISD, and real case examples of IPR protection in China presented by Beijing Lawsing IP Firm. You will also get updated information about Patent Enforcement Development in China.

All Nordic business groups welcome you to the "Nordic Ambassadors' Luncheon on work-life Balance"!

The Nordic Chambers and Business Associations are delighted to invite you to the Nordic Ambassadors' Luncheon about work-life balance, with Ms Jacqueline Poh, Deputy Secretary, Prime Minister's Strategy Office, attending the event as keynote speaker and panel participant. Ambassadors Ms Dorte Bech Vizard (DK), Mr Antti Vänskä (FI), Ms Anita Nergaard (NO) and Mr Niclas Kvarnström (SE) will give us insights how Nordics implement work-life balance.

The event will take place on Wednesday, 2 October and focus on work-life balance: a term commonly used to describe the balance between work and other aspects of life, such as personal interests, family and social or leisure activities.

Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden continue to top many work-life balance polls based on their culture, workplace benefits, flexible working hours, outdoors lifestyle and a focus on health/well-being. More and more Nordic organizations are implementing work-life balance initiatives for their staff, which not only benefits those employed but also the entire company. During the Luncheon, four Nordic corporations will share their business cases and best practice regarding work-life balance within their organizations (speakers TBA shortly).

The event will conclude with the four Nordic Ambassadors along with Deputy Secretary, Ms Jacqueline Poh, taking part in a panel discussion about their views on the work-life balance theme.

Dear Members and Friends,

Wrapping up a year of fruitful collaborations, the Nordic Chambers and Business Associations are delighted to invite you to the Nordic Ambassadors' Luncheon with Singapore’s NEA Director as the guest of honour. 

The theme for the event on December 10, is Sustainable Development – for which joint efforts, innovation and exchange are crucial.

The Nordic countries have all committed to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the 2030 Agenda and are pursuing the goals at an international level as well as working towards building sustainable societies at home. Singapore is equally very ambitious, being both a Green and a Smart Nation. 
 
The luncheon will showcase that Singapore and the Nordics share both similarities and common interests.

After a three-course sustainable lunch is served, the four Nordic corporations will share successful sustainable business cases that put the SDG’s into practice.

Firstly, thank you for all who attended the FinnCham Junk last Saturday - we had a blast! You can find the link to the pictures below. As for now, it is time to change the mindset for the September Pub Night that takes place at the Globe tomorrow.

Secondly, few tips regarding the upcoming events: 

-Register to the The PRAIA 2018 education and training program held in November. More information in the newsletter below.

-October 23 FinnCham together with other chambers will host a Breakfast Seminar "Types of cyber-attack, how to protect agains them, and what to do if attacked." This panel discussion will summarize the biggest risks to watch out for and give practical tips on how to protect against cyber-attacks. Find the registration link below. 

-There's no better place to celebrate Oktoberfest in Hong Kong than at the annual festivities taking place at Marco Polo Hotel! Sign up for the fun night with beer, sausages, pretzels and The Notenhobler band on 28 October with other FinnCham members.

Finnish Business Council Singarpore: Nordic Start-Up Day

The Nordic business organizations jointly present the Nordic Start-Up day. A concept for the Nordic entrepreneurial scene in Singapore.

The first gathering features one inspirational talk and one-panel discussion. The inspirational talk will be by Paulina Fogel VP Strategic Accounts at Trax, telling their company story. The panel discussion will aim at delivering practical advice on how to successfully establish a start-up in Singapore, navigating with and around the Singaporean Ministries and finding relevant business partners. September 4: Talent Dialogue evening. Thank you for registering for the event! The registration is now closed.

September 21: SiSu and FBC season opening. Welcome to celebrate the autumn season! All SiSu and FBC members can participate in the BBQ buffet at Grand Hyatt Oasis restaurant. Member fee free flow 88++ SGD and non-alcoholic 68++ SGD. Registration by September 16, 2018, to SiSu chairman. Registration is binding.

September 6: EU Young Professionals evening event. If you are below 35 you do not want to miss the first European Young Professional networking event organised by EuroCham and the Norwegian Business Association of Singapore (NBAS) will be organizing. September 13:  Nordic Start-Up Breakfast. The Nordic business organizations jointly present the Nordic Start-Up day. A concept for the Nordic entrepreneurial scene in Singapore. The first gathering features one inspirational talk and a panel discussion. The inspirational talk will be by Paulina Fogel VP Strategic Accounts at Trax, telling their company story. The panel discussion will aim at delivering practical advice on how to successfully establish a start-up in Singapore, navigating with and around the Singaporean Ministries and finding relevant business partners. Panellists include Mr Matti Junila Head of Southeast Asia at Smartly, Mikael Krogh, Managing Partner and Founder at Investigate and Nima Karimi, COO and Co-Founder at Lendela.
